FOUNDER & CEO

Robert Beeson

Robert Beeson was a Grammy Award–winning music executive who thought he had built a full life—until his wife left and he found himself raising three daughters alone. In that sudden solo season, he discovered how few resources existed for single parents navigating loss, parenting, and isolation. That experience led him to create Solo Parent in 2017, beginning as a personal blog, vlog, and quickly grew into a podcast, book, and national movement reaching thousands through daily online groups and local communities. He now lives in Franklin, Tennessee, where he is remarried and deeply committed to his blended family of six adult children.

Our board members bring years of experience, wisdom, and passion to ensure that Solo Parent continues to grow, reach more families, and provide meaningful support to single parents everywhere.

David Farmer

Founder / Board Chairman

David Farmer holds an MBA from Boston University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. He began his career serving in the United States Army Europe and has since overseen North American Sales for FORTNA since 1996.

David and his wife, Tracy, have two sons and a daughter-in-law.

Robert Noland

Board Member

Robert Noland spent ten years as a touring musician, songwriter, and producer in Christian music. After leaving the road, he became the Director of Operations of an international ministry producing Christian resources, managing the organization for twenty years. During that season, he and his family planted three churches with Robert being the lay-pastor of the third for nine years.

Since 1991, he has authored one hundred-plus devotionals, study guides, journals, and books spanning across children, youth, and adult audiences.

Brent Gray

Board Member

Brent Gray is an attorney in Franklin Tennessee. He currently serves as General Counsel for a multi-state staffing company. Prior to that he was in private practice with a local boutique business law firm. He brings a wealth of diverse experience having counseled businesses and individuals in a variety of contractual, planning and litigation matters over the last 15 years.

Advisory Board

The Solo Parent Advisory Board is a non-governing body comprised of industry leaders who have the passion and heart for our mission. Their role is strategic counsel and advocacy to support and guide Solo Parent’s mission with experience from their respective fields. The structure consists of virtual calls throughout the year and one in-person meeting per year. The normal term is a three-year term, renewable upon mutual agreement.

David Smallbone

Music & Ministry Executive

David Smallbone is a longtime music and ministry executive. David is the current manager and partner of for King and Country and Rebecca St James.

J.T. Carradice

Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Seekye Capital

J.T. Carradice is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Seekye Capital, a wealth management firm based in Fairfax, Virginia. Before launching Seekye, J.T. worked as a Private Wealth Advisor at Carradice Wealth Advisors, a private wealth advisory practice affiliated with Ameriprise Financial Services. He holds a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation from the College for Financial Planning and serves on the Parent Advisory Council at Virginia Tech University.

Lisa Hudgins

National Marketing and Brand Strategist, Hope Media Group / WayFM

Lisa Hudgins is the National Marketing and Brand Strategist for Hope Media Group/WayFM, currently serving as Regional Director of Business Development, where she drives growth and oversees regional operations for the organization. She’s an experienced marketing executive with a strong track record in brand strategy and marketing for Hope Media Group, the family of media ministry brands behind WayFM, KSBJ, and related Christian radio and content platforms.

Shunil Joesph

Managing Partner, First Arrow Executive Search - Leadership

Shunil Joseph is Founder and Managing Partner of First Arrow Executive Search, a retained executive search firm focused on the federal, aerospace/defense, and intelligence community sectors, with a growing commercial cybersecurity practice. He brings nearly three decades of executive search experience, including senior-level placements across the Intelligence Community, DOD, DOE, NASA, and the Federal Civilian sector.

Elizabeth Reese

Director, Community Homeless Outreach and Support, Inc. (Brooks House)

Elizabeth “Liz” Reese has served as Executive Director of Brooks House since 2007, the transitional shelter for women and children in Wilson County, Tennessee operated by Community Homeless Outreach and Support, Inc. She brings prior professional experience from TennCare, Tenet Healthcare, and Walmart, along with deep knowledge of local community resources. Liz has served on multiple community boards, including Habitat for Humanity of Wilson County, the Lebanon Housing Authority, and the University Medical Center Board of Trustees.

Jeff Roberts

Founder & President, Jeff Roberts Agency

Jeff Roberts is Founder and President of the Jeff Roberts Agency (JRA), which he started in 1985 out of his garage with a single employee and a manual typewriter. Since then, he’s grown JRA into one of the leading agencies serving Christian music’s top touring artists and speakers, representing may of today’s biggest Christian artists and tours with a staff of 15 and more than 100 years of combined industry experience.

Thomas A. Stith III

CEO, The Michael Thomas Group

Thomas A. Stith III is CEO of The Michael Thomas Group, a consulting firm he co-founded in 1995 to advise client on business development opportunities in the public and private sectors. He previously served as District Director of the U.S.Small Business Administration of North Carolina, President of the North Carolina Community College System, and Chief of Staff to North Caroline Governor Pat McCrory. Thomas is currently a Professor of the Practice at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Senior Fellow at the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise.

Yolanda Smith

Private Investor and Author

Yolanda Stith is a private investor and author with a long career in public service and community leadership. She was appointed by North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory to the North Carolina Industrial Commission in 2016 and was later confirmed by the General Assembly to a term as Vice Chair. Yolanda managed the start-up of a 21st Century Community Learning Center Program and founded a governmental relations firm providing comprehensive professional services to organizations pursuing market opportunities in the public and private sector.

John A. White III

Executive Advisor, Investor, & Former President & CEO of Fortna Inc.

John A. White III is an executive advisor and investor, and former President and CEO of Fortna Inc. He led Fortna, a global supply chain consulting and engineering firm, first as President beginning in 2010 and then as President & CEO from 2015, quadrupling company revenue over nearly a decade at the helm. John brings more than 25 years of supply chain, consulting, and technology leadership from prior senior roles at Capgemini, Manugistics, and Accenture.
