Solo Parent Leader Agreement

It is important that you uphold the character, values, and policies that define a Solo Parent Group, creating a safe, supportive environment, and consistent experience for single parents across the nation. Adherence to these standards is required for your group to be recognized and endorsed as an official Solo Parent Group.

Core Principles

Solo Parent is built on the foundational belief that true healing and wholeness come from both community support and individual spiritual growth. Our approach is inclusive, welcoming the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of all participants.

We believe:

  • Every person holds divine worth as revealed in Scripture: We are guided by, and accountable to, the wisdom and teachings found in the Bible. We view all of humanity through a lens of divine worth and purpose apart from denomination or doctrine.
  • Community is essential: We learn from each other and grow stronger together as we support one another.
  • Support happens through shared experiences: Authentic connections arise when we share our journeys with others, regardless of where they are on their path.
  • Healing comes through empathy and understanding: Sharing stories in a non-judgmental way allows us to heal, reminding us we are not alone in our struggles.
  • Growth is collective: Communities that embrace each individual’s unique challenges foster environments where people can grow and thrive.

As a Solo Parent Group Leader, I agree to the following:

  • I will embody the 3 C’s:  Character to lead with integrity, Consistency to establish trust through reliability, and Compassion to create a safe, understanding environment where all group members feel welcome and valued.
  • I will be inclusive of all participants, regardless of their individual beliefs, backgrounds, and how they became a single parent (divorced, widowed, or never married).
  • I commit to serving as a leader for the duration of the curriculum (or the time required by the sponsoring organization).
  • I will not engage in romantic relationships with group members during my time as a leader, to preserve the safety, integrity and focus of the group.
  • I will adhere to the prescribed group meeting format, including the use of sharing guidelines at every meeting, to ensure consistency and safety.
  • I will stay informed of Solo Parent’s best practices and updates and will attend at least one online SP group and watch the required leader training videos before my group begins.
  • I will use only the approved SP curriculum and materials and will not modify them or distribute them outside the context of our group.
  • I will not promote or recruit for external businesses, groups, or events unless they are officially sanctioned by SP or my sponsoring organization.
