SoloCon Testimonies

“In a world where broken homes are becoming more and more common, Solo Parent has made a community that helps shine light through the brokenness. SoloCon is just one example of the things they do to help families like mine connect with others in the same place we are. Where families that feel ripped in half can go to feel whole again and where my brother and I have made life long memories.”

– Colton, child of a single parent

“As solo parents, it takes having a good reason to be able to take a moment to ourselves, and SoloCon was exactly that for me. Not only did I learn about many concepts to help me in my parenting journey, I also was comforted just being in a room full of people who were or have been exactly where I am today. It doesn’t happen often when I can walk into a room and feel like everyone knows and understands me just by saying ‘hello.’”

– Stefany, single mom to 1

FAQs

Solo Parent has partnered with an organization called Barefoot Republic for our 2024 SoloCon. Their home base is in Kentucky but they offer Day Camp locations in Tennessee throughout the summer. Both Parent Sessions and Kids Day Camp will be held at their newly acquired Barefoot Republic Community Center in Nashville – located on the same campus as Christ Church. Parents and kids will be meeting in different areas of the facility but will be on the same campus for easy access in the event of an emergency.

This year we have partnered with Barefoot Republic Day Camp for the kiddos. BRC offers a diverse platform of activities for kids ages 2 – 16. Activities include: basketball, drama, dance, extreme sports, football, film production, making of the band, photography, soccer, STOMP, visual arts, vocal performance, arts/crafts, and more.

Email [email protected] for inquiries about ages 2 and under.

There will be activities planned for ages 2 – 16. If you have a child under the age of 2 and would like to attend, please contact us at [email protected].

Yes, meals will be provided during the conference and kids day camp. Meals that are included are:

Thursday – Lunch
Friday – Lunch and Dinner
Saturday – Breakfast
Snacks will also be provided throughout each day of the conference.
We will accommodate any dietary restrictions.

Those who are flying to the conference should fly into Nashville International Airport (BNA)

We are here to help!

Yes, since our venue isn’t within walking distance to the hotels we recommend, we suggest you rent a car, partner up with other solo parents or plan to use rideshare (Uber or Lyft).
The venue will have plenty of free parking, and your hotel should have free onsite parking as well.

We would love for you and your family to explore everything Nashville has to offer! We are still firming up our schedule, but there may be some free time on Thursday evening. Regardless, we’d recommend either coming into town early or staying after on Saturday and Sunday!

We are working on pulling together a robust list of things we’d recommend! In the meantime, just Google “Fun things to do in Nashville July 2024”. You’ll definitely come up with a lots of options for both adults and kids alike!
